| Trans-Siberian Trip - Crousty goes Global! |
 | Trans-Siberian trip - October 2005 In 4 weeks I crossed Russia, Mongolia and finally China to get to Beijing. This stunning journey is depicted in the following pictures.
Starting in Moscow and St Petersburg for a week, then went on to Lake Baikal for the remaining 4 days, on the Lakeshore - Lystvyanka village.
Crossed the border to Mongolia and on to Ulan Bataar, where we went for a 7-day trip in the Gobi Desert.
Finally crossed the Great Wall of China after another trian-leg of 35h, and in Beijing for the last 4 days of my trip where I got the chance to trek the Great Wall in Simatai, explore the forbidden city and visit the Temple of heaven. Oh, yeah, and stuff myself with the local food :-)
Enjoy! Crousty.Added 2005-11-30 |
| Italy - Part 2 |
 | Following on the previous Gallery, here are some more regions I visited in the latter 4 weeks:
- Florence
- Venice
- Tuscany by Scooter
- Sicily
(I am currently on a mission in Italy, and enjoy my week-ends down here as you will see :-) )
In Sicily I had the chance to climb the Stromboli volcano by night: that gave us a surreal show. After visiting Mount Etna and Vesuvius, I then completed
the volcano trail in Italy. Next is Kamchatka!!!Added 2005-09-15 |
| Italy - Part 1 |
 | Work just sent me on a mission in Italy, which is pretty cool. I could think of worse places to work in.
So during the week-ends I had a bit of time to explore. Here is an overview of the first 4 weeks:
- Naples / Capri Island
- Rome / Vatican
- Florence
- Tuscany / Lucca / Parma / Milan
>br>
There is more in the "Italy 2" photo gallery: too many photos!
(As usual I tried to get rid of the junk and present only the very best. Well, I tried anyway)
PS: Before I forget: Yes, stereotypes about Italian food and Italian girls are ALL true...Added 2005-09-10 |
| USA Road Trip part II |
 | USA, the Road trip part II - New Orleans to New York City. From the New Orleans I went up Atlanta for the day to explore the MLK memorial, then to Washington DC and its many museums. Crossed the border to Montreal, a wonderful and cheerful city. Finally arrived in New York city at the end of April, maybe the most vibrant spot in the US.Added 2005-04-06 |
| National Parks Trip |
 | The US National Parks trip - Grand Circle In Las Vegas I hired a car for the week to get a chance to explore what the US has the best to offer in terms of National Parks - and I haven\'t been disappointed! I drove over 3,000 kms in that week, through Death Valley, Zion, Canyonland, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde and its cliff-dwellings and finally the Grand Canyon. That was just the best road-trip ever, the photos are here to prove it. Added 2005-03-28 |
| USA Road Trip part I |
 | USA, the Road trip part I - San Francisco to the New Orleans. I started out in San Francisco in February, where I spent a week before taking a break for a month in Mexico. Then I went back to Frisco and then on to Yosemite NP, Las Vegas, Grand Circle, Albuquerque, San Antonio, and finally to New Orleans. You can have a look at the << MAP >> to understand better where I have been - south route.Added 2005-03-24 |
| Yosemite NP |
 | Yosemite National Park was just great! Half covered by snow, which made it even prettier... Added 2005-03-23 |
| Mexico - Part II |
 | The second half of the Mexican trip is there, at last! All the way from Cancun back to Mexico City via XPu-Ha, San Cristobal, Oaxaca. Got so f***g sick in San Cristobal, it wasn't funny... Added 2005-03-21 |
| Mexico - Tierra Del Sol Trip |
 | After a few days in San Francisco, start of the 21-day tour of the Yucatan Peninsula, following the Maya trail.
Photos of the Maya Ruins, the playas, Cancun, Islas Mujeres, Tulum, Chichen Itza, Uxmal... And yet more to come, I am only half way with the trip! Added 2005-03-11 |
| Seal Rocks Trip with Kathrin |
 | Seal Rocks, 3.5h up north of Sydney and 1 hours north of Newcastle is a surfer's paradise thanks to its wonderful coast, as well as a windsurfer's heaven due to its location in the region called the "Great Lakes". Weather could have been better but hey, that was a nice week end. Added 2004-12-12 |
| Jervis Bay |
 | Jervis Bay is supposed to have the whitest sand in the world. Having a look at the photos will prove it: I swear no Photoshop trick has been used! Added 2004-11-11 |
| Best Shots |
 | Here is a selection of the finest photos I've ever taken. Yes, I love trees and nature in general...:-) Added 2004-10-11 |
| Amazing Photos |
 | In this Gallery I put a couple of photos I gathered here and there; I did not take them I don't have the details of where they come from for most of them, which is sad. Added 2004-10-10 |
| Crousty & Kathrin - Bouddi national Park |
 | Bouddi National park is located 90 kilometres north of sydney, in the Central Coast. The coast there is simply amazing, and fewer people get there due to the distance from Sydney. A very good day trip to enjoy some fine scenery. See more inside! Added 2004-07-31 |
| Crousty - Sydney Uni Graduation |
 | At last, on the 14th of May I officially graduated from sydney University, and am officially a master in Project Management! The weather was nice to us, Kim, Kathrin and myself, which is rather lucky in winter... See more inside! Added 2004-05-14 |
| Trip to Cronulla with Kathrin. |
 | Kathrin & Crousty along the coast - Cronulla up to Maroubra. On Sunday we went to Cronulla, nice Sydney suburb 25 minutes away from the city center, to check out this nice piece of coast: we weren't deceived! The photos will prove it. On the way back we went to Maroubra and enjoyed a nice sunset, to close a fine day omn the coast... More inside! Added 2004-05-10 |
| Apartment in Randwick, Sydney |
 | Here are the photos of my new apartment in Randwick, Sydney. Very nicely located close to the Beaches ( Coogee and Bronte ),
close to the Office and in a nice and quiet building. There is a swimming pool facing my 2 bedroom apartment,
which is rather nice... I love this place! Added 2004-05-08 |
| Niko in Sydney! |
 | That's it, Niko is in Oz. Here are the very first pictures of his stay in Sydney, and the various activities he
has had ever since.
Good photos of Sydney Harbour and Darling Harbour, plus a fantastic chat-fight in a
Reastaurant between Crousty and Kim... Added 2003-12-02 |
| Blue Mountains - Wentworth Track. |
 | Niko & Crousty on the Wentworth Track. To occupy Niko's last hours in Oz, we went to the famous Blue Mountains not far from Sydney for a day walk in the rainforest. This 5 hours walk follows the cliffs and is full of waterfalls, including of course the "Wentworth Falls" as the highlight - and end - of the walk.
Some really nice shots in there, worth having a look :-) Added 2003-12-02 |
| Botany Bay National Park |
 | Niko & Crousty in the Botany Bay National Park. A great walk there, that ended up with a storm and free shower on the way
back... But it was good fun anyway, and highly enjoyable. The landscapes are quite different from what you can find in Coogee or Bondi,
and it is definitely a fine walk. Of course, we jagged it, which added up to the pleasure of the day-trip ;-) Added 2003-11-11 |
| Crousty's (ex) Jaguar |
 | Yes, that's it, it is my official new toy ( after the Ipod and the Bose Speaker System ). Some say I have
expensive tastes, and I am starting to think they're right ! Anyway, that is a fantastic car, it drives wonderfully and it is by far one of the best thing I have ever done for myself... Pictures there... Added 2003-11-10 |
| Cape Tribulation Trip. |
 | Niko & Crousty in Cape Tribulation. We spent only 3 days there, but it was fantastic ! A little piece of paradise, with its postcard-like white beaches. Plus we went scuba diving on the outer Great Barrier Reef - beautiful, and so much to see ! Plus a side walk to a creek, and crododile sighting onto the Daintree River. All good I tell you ! Added 2003-10-14 |
| Cairns to Alice Spring - Desert Venturer. |
 | Niko & Crousty leading to Alice Spring. The motto of "Desert Venturer" is "why flying ?". And true, that would have been a shame.
The 3 days it took us to get to the red center were absolutely unfergetable : we took dirt road pretty much all the way there, and hardly saw any car ( maybe 20 in total in 3 days ). We slept in Farms in the middle of nowhere, and could enjoy the
view of this semi-arid zone a bit longer than others usually do. Highly recommended ! Plus we did a couple of fine walks, plenty of photos in there to show you how good it was ! Added 2003-10-13 |
| Red Center - Uluru Unleashed. |
 | Niko & Crousty in Australia's Red Center. The last part of our 10 days trip spent exploring the outback. When I say
outback, it is not exactly "desert" like there is nobody there : it is full of tourists everywhere ! We saw the
highlights of this zone such as Uluru ( aka "The Rock" or "Ayer's Rock" ), Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon. Nice shots in this
gallery.
Thanks to our 4WD we took a chance to go a bit out of the beaten track, at the expense of getting stuck in a sand hole for almost an hour...
Then campfire far away from the civilisation, in this fantastic country that is Australia. Cool trip, cool photos Added 2003-10-12 |
| Trip to Melbourne |
 | After Niko arrived we have been to Melbourne with my fantastic new toy ( that you can see there :
Jaguar Crousty ). Jochen, Kim, Niko and myself went to Melbourne for the
week holliday we had in the mid-semester. We mainly spent 2 days in Melbourne, went to the Great Ocean Road and Phillipp Island,
plus 2 days driving there and back. It was a fantastic trip, and a fantastic drive.
Pictures of the Great Ocean Road, 12 Apostles, Phillipp Island, Melbourne City Center... Added 2003-10-09 |
| Trip Europe |
 | The pictures of this 5 weeks trip are classifed by location, just click to access the main
menu of this section. Kim had plenty of European food and sightseeing, therefore
she was happy.
On my side I was very happy to see all my old friends but Annelies, and intend
coming back to visit everybody next year ! Added 2003-08-08 |
| Sailing on Sydney Harbour With Ted |
 | The main interest of this gallery is to show some shots of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.
We went sailing with Juliette - my flatmate and co-worker - and Ted, our convenor. Added 2003-08-01 |
| Amsterdam |
 | Amsterdam | 25/07 ==> 28/07 That was the last significant city we have been to in this trip, as we didn't go to London - but Kim went to Glasgow later on.My first impression
on Amsterdam ws really bad, as the accomodation was over-priced, you could see junkies all over the place, and prostitutes exposed in front-windows of dedicated shops in the Red Light district. Well, I really didn't feel comfortable about all this, and found Amsterdam as being the last resort for desperate people. But soon after we started visiting the city by bike - Yellow bikes - then taking a pedal boat to explore the numerous canals going through the city, smoking some funny cigarettes and suddently it became a really nice place to live, with some strange aspects though. That is one of the place I am the happiest to have visited in the trip, as I had no idea of what was happening there, and I actually like the city - not for its features, hear me. Nice pictures inside, taken with a disposable camera as my digital one was really f***ed at that time. But it's OK. Added 2003-07-28 |
| Munich |
 | Munich | 19/07 ==> 24/07 Out of France, our first intended destination was Munich.
The main motive being to go and see my old Internationnal friends Peter & Sybille, Schoe the Dutch and Fred the Sweddish. They all came one after the other, therefore we stayed a couple of more days in Munich than we planned to. That is why we skipped London in the trip, for those who studied the trip plannning carefully. We visited the very nice city of Munich, got a chance to see Sandra, Wolly and Tina, even found time to go to a lake and finally we visited a Palace and a castle. One of the highlights
of Munich was the Bavarian food with its weiss wurchts and its wiss bier, as well as the intense biergardens training we had there... That was cool, and the weather was fantastic up to when Schoe arrived... Added 2003-07-23 |
| Toulouse, the "pink city" |
 | Toulouse | 15/07 ==> 18/07 Toulouse, also called the "pink city".That is where I spent 8 years of my life, and felt I had to go back there and make Kim discover it. We saw Amandine there. Of course we tried several restaurants there including "l'entrecote" which is a very famous one. We've been walking in the city, along the Garonne ( the river oging through Toulouse ) and as we were
there at the same time as the Tour de France, we expected to see the local arrival. But it was quite far away, so we finally didn't. But we did see Arnold Schwarzeneger who was promoting his latest Terminator while following the Tour. He's quite small, but I wouldn't fuck around with him, he he. We also visited a couple of cathedral in Toulouse, as they are pretty particular due to the color
of the stones used in the region. Plenty of pictures in this section. Added 2003-07-16 |
| Paris |
 | Paris | 08/07 ==> 14/07 Paris, the must-do. We stayed at Niko's parents place the whole time, in Poissy. That was real good, they really took care of us - thx Nuts. We went biking in the forest the first day, then to the Quartier Latin the second day. Later we went to Montmartre, where Kim broke my digital camera : that's why most of the pictures taken after Paris are blurry... We went to Trotsky's brother housewarming party
and I got so sick - don't ask why - that I threw up on all the walls in the house ( yes, the ones they just finished putting brand new wallpaper on in the very afternoon ), and I even threw up on the dog. That was a good highlight in the Paris trip, even though Trotsky's brother didn't really find it very funny - what I can understand. We stayed in Paris until the 15th of July to go to the Bastille's day fireworks. Real good. The gallery takes you on a tour to all these events. Added 2003-07-14 |
| Rennes |
 | Rennes | 04/07 ==> 07/07 Rennes, the city I spent 2 years in before I went in Australia. We stayed at PPCM's place, went to see Marie, and of course went in the city for shopping. Kim bought a pair of shoes, guess what color ? We planned on going to St Malo but we screwed up - long and uninteresting story - so we missed that. We also saw Trotsky at his housewarming party, as well as Godevin, Diane and Virginie. It had been a while. The gallery covers Cesson Sevigne, Rennes city center and the Thabor garden. Added 2003-07-10 |
| Brest |
 | Brest | 21/06 ==> 3/07 Brest, first destination of our trip. The main purpose was of course to see my family. We took some windsurfurfing lessons in the morning, and went sightseeing in the afternoons. That was good fun. The pictures cover Crozon, the Chateau of Brest as well as the botanical garden. Added 2003-07-02 |
| Housewarming Party |
 | The 15th of March Housewarming was absolutely fantastic. The house was absolutely crowded
and of course 90% of the people were drunk at the end. Great to check who is still in Sydney and
have a basic overview of the House - More pictures coming soon. Added 2003-03-10 |
| My house! |
 | Here we go, here are the pictures of the new house I live in, located in Camperdown. The suburb name, Camperdown, is not as funky as "chippendale" where I used to live, but who cares ? The House is a 4 bedroom one, organised in 2 storeys. We are between 5 and 7 people living there - depending whether all the boyfriends/girfriends are around or not. It's overall a really sweet place to live in, very close to uni located in a quiet street. The pictures in the Gallery should help you
getting a better idea of the place. Added 2003-03-07 |
| Trip to New Zealand |
 | THE trip to New Zealand. Probably the best I ever did so far. If you have time for only one gallery,
that is the one you have to go to. The landscapes are absolutely gorgeous and incredibly
different after only a couple of kilometers. I did both North and South Island, and this gallery
is accompanied by a short storyline of the trip and the highlights.

| Eclipse Festival |
 | On the 4th of December we had a Total eclipse down here in Australia. As usual for such
an event a lot of activities were planned to celebrate it. Personaly I have been to a Rave
Party lost in the middle of the desert, 400km North of Adelaide, for 5 days. It was brilliant ! Added 2002-12-08 |
| Mandelbaum House Party |
 | Wow. I am not going to be the biggest gossip teller here, but a lot happened that night.
Well, everybody was drunk that night - when I say everybody I mean EVERYBODY - but it
has nothing really exceptional. No, the real highlights of this fantastic night were :
- Some toilets were broken - dunno why ;
- Schoe was wearing the beer goggles that night ;
- Some guys got lucky with Austrians ;
- And Kate was so drunk that she doesn't remember
any of the pictures she appears on...
Well, that was a good party.Added 2002-10-02 |

We had more than enough food and it was delicious. Meli, Mike, Audrey, Kim and
of course Pierre and Crousty were there Added 2002-08-16 |
